Hire us in Littlerock Arkansas for all of your Commercial Lawn Maintenance Needs.

We do this in Littlerock Arkansas and four other markets we proudly serve. We have been providing landscaping services since 1992 and our team is dedicated to offering quality lawn care products at affordable rates. Here are some of our most requested commercial lawn maintenance services in Littlerock and all Pugh's Earthworks markets: Littlerock Arkansas Commercial Lawn Maintenance Lawn mowing. We can help you keep your grass looking its best with regular mowing, which includes trimming edges to give them a neat appearance and ensuring that all grass is evenly cut. Lawn mowing is the most important part of lawn maintenance. Mowing keeps grass healthy and helps prevent weeds, which can otherwise overtake your yard. Regularly mowing also helps control pests like ticks and mosquitoes, as well as keeping your lawn looking good by trimming off any dead or damaged blades of grass. In the spring and summer months, mowing your lawn weekly or biweekly is essential to getting the most out of your grass. Mowing your lawn regularly is the most important thing you can do to keep it looking its best. The best time to mow your lawn is when it is dry, so you do not run the risk of damaging the grass or clogging up your mower with too much moisture in the blades. Lawn fertilization. A healthy lawn starts with healthy soil, so we use fertilizer to increase the nutrient content of your soil while also promoting growth in plants' root systems. This results in healthier plants that require less water and fertilizer over time! We recommend using an organic fertilizer such as compost or compost tea (which contains bacteria). Organic fertilizers have better nutrients for plants than chemical ones do and are safe for children and pets. Lawn fertilization refers to the application of nutrients, such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. These nutrients help your grass grow strong and healthy. If you are not sure when to fertilize your lawn, there are several signs that can help you determine if it is time for some fertilizer. You should consider fertilizing if: Your grass appears thin or sparse in spots. This could be due to drought conditions or poor drainage (or both). Fertilizing will give the roots a boost so they will produce new shoots that will fill in these bare spots over time. We have just planted new sod on an area where there was no existing lawn before. Even even though it looks lush now with all those new blades poking through the soil surface after being laid down last week by our crew at Pugh's Earthworks Commercial Landscaping, we recommend applying some fertilizer within six months after laying sod down. This is because it will encourage root growth under each blade so it can support itself better against windstorms later down the road! Plus if you do not do this step then eventually those blades [...]

They allow visitors to easily navigate through cemeteries, as well as provide access for maintenance equipment and vehicles. Maintaining these pathways is essential for ensuring that your loved ones' final resting places are kept in good condition throughout their lifetimes, and beyond. Here are some tips on how you can maintain your cemetery pathway: Keep an eye out for weeds or overgrowth along the sides of paths. This can be caused by plants growing up from under ground level due to poor drainage, so make sure that any puddles have been cleared before they become too large (and impossible to remove). You may also want to consider installing gravel or mulch around tree roots if they tend toward growing up rather than out--this will help prevent erosion at those points where water collects most often! Make sure all signs are clearly visible, so visitors know where they're going without getting lost among headstones all day long! Hiring a professional landscaper or [...]

Pugh’s Earthworks Protects Your Commercial Property all Year

Pugh's Earthworks Pugh's Earthworks provides commercial landscape design and maintenance services Tennessee, including Memphis, Jackson, and Nashville plus we service commercial lawns and landscaping in Little Rock, Arkansas and Southaven, Mississippi.  Our monthly seasonal landscape care for commercial properties includes professional lawn care, planting and pruning, landscape design, water-conservation strategies, and more including Winter Commercial Landscape Service. When it comes to seasonal landscaping care, winter is one of the most challenging due to the cold conditions, including the potential for snow and ice. The freezing ground can also make it difficult to do some of the most common landscaping and lawn maintenance tasks like weeding and planting. Winter is the perfect time to address landscaping and prepare the lawn and shrubs for spring and summer growth. Additionally, you want to maintain that all important curb appeal for your commercial property during the harsh winter months. Pugh's Earthworks will take steps winter proof your commercial property. Below is a high-level overview of some of the important actions to take to winterize your commercial property. Winter Commercial Landscape Service Prune and Clean - Remove all organic debris from your lawn, including leaves and fallen tree branches. Leaving that debris on your lawn can cause bacteria and disease to flourish as well as attract insects and other pests. This process also promotes the space for new growth. In addition, your curb appeal remains intact as the plant thinning and winter brush removal gives your landscaping a clean, professional look. Apply New Mulch - The overall value of refreshing mulched areas cannot be overstated. And it is a way to keep grounds looking sharp to improve aesthetic appeal. Plus, a new thick dense layer of mulch helps to protect sensitive plants and it promotes the retention of moisture and nutrients in the soil. Not to mention that weeds have more trouble germinating in thick mulch. Apply Pre-emergent Weed Control - To minimize weed growth in lawn areas, Pugh's Earthworks will use pre-emergent treatments that prevent invasive plants from germinating. Irrigation System Maintenance - Surprisingly, lawns can get over-watered in winter months. That means you should change your sprinkler system to water sparingly during these months. More precipitation in the winter means less need for irrigation and more need for good drainage. An experienced landscaping company like Pugh's Earthworks will be able to provide a seasonal watering assessment customized to each commercial client's property requirements. In addition, saving on expensive water bills, reducing runoff to prevent soil erosion and just an overall better functional water system will be designed. Fertilize for Spring - Applying fertilizer toward the end of winter or beginning of spring replenishes nutrients in the soil and ensures healthy plant growth once warmer weather returns. The certified landscape technicians at Pugh's Earthworks will perform a soil analysis to determine what is the best treatment. Reduce Lawn Traffic - A sometimes not apparent corrective measure for commercial lawns is to reduce heavy traffic on the lawn. During the winter months, the grass is [...]

Pugh’s Earthworks is a Premiere Customer First Commercial Landscaping Business

Pugh's Earthworks I recently ran across an article from the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) that spoke to the importance of proper etiquette when it comes to Commercial Landscaping. Like any industry, treating customers like they are the most important is critical to any sustainable business model. Pugh's Earthworks is a premiere Commercial Landscaping Business in the Mid-South. Customers that utilize our services not only receive top quality services, but they also receive the respect and proper manners they deserve. The article was a good reminder that manner's matter. When you read the testimonials from the Pugh's Earthworks customers, it is clear our team fully embraces that fact. Below is an example: Testimonials “Act of Kindness.  So much of the time we only complain, but today I want to let you know of an extreme act of kindness expressed to me.  I was blowing the leaves off my carport and off my driveway when all of a sudden 8 young men with leave blowers came over and they blew the leaves off my entire front yard and added them to the ones they were cleaning up.  It took them less than 5 minutes, but I will remember this for the rest of my life.  We are elderly & my husband is a disabled veteran so I am sure you can tell how much this helped me.  Kudos to Pugh’s for hiring such compassionate & hard-working young men!” P. Harper Greenbrook The Pugh's Earthworks management team organizes periodic training classes for all employees. These cover the basics of safety, equipment handling and of course the proper interaction with all valuable customers. According to the NALP article, below are some of the basic principles a well-run service company like Pugh's Earthworks always follows: Commercial Landscaping Business Be Courteous This is the most basic level of etiquette all your employees should practice. Teach them to always be aware of people and train them to wave or smile at the customer or even passersby. Throttling down a blower or string trimmer as a neighbor walk by is a sign of respect. Your crews should know to behave on jobsite and refrain from horseplay or obscene language. Body language is also important. Teach your team members to make eye contact with the client when they’re speaking. This lets the customer know you are giving them your full attention. Discourage fidgeting or having a closed-off stance as this gives off the impression that you are not engaged in the conversation. Be Personal It means a lot to be known and taking the time to address your customers by their names when you are on their property helps them feel like they are not just a number in your book of business. If your crews struggle to remember all the names, provide them a cheat sheet they can look at before starting a job. Taking the time to look over the property and inform the client of any potential issues you see also shows you care about [...]

Pugh’s Earthworks Provides Year-Round Commercial Landscaping Services

Pugh's Earthworks Pugh's Earthworks provides Year-Round Commercial Landscaping Services. Commercial property owners in the Mid-South region we support will not find a better Commercial Landscaping vendor to protect their valuable property. Whether the property is a hotel, retail shopping center, cemetery, church, school, industrial park and more, we have the skill, licensing and passion to provide the best service in the industry. Now that the weather is starting to cool down, it is a good time to consider adding new or replacing dead trees and shrubs. Although it may not seem like it due to the colder temperatures and changing weather, winter is still a good time to plant trees and shrubs. Here's why. First, plants, trees, and shrubs all store energy during the growing season that they then use in the fall and winter to grow roots. In fact, most root growth occurs during these seasons. Second, the stress levels of trees and shrubs are reduced because of the lack of foliage and the minimal new growth. Third, there is considerably less water that needs to be provided in order to keep these new plantings going. Fourth, pruning is not necessary unless there happens to be a broken branch. By not having to prune, there is less risk that you will damage any part of the tree or shrub that is getting ready to grow in the springtime. To make the most of these winter planting advantages, the Pugh's Earthworks team realizes that Mulching is a critical step to take when you are planting trees and shrubs in winter. Mulch provides a way to maintain constant soil temperatures. That way, plants can still grow roots when the soil temperature stays above 45 degrees. By applying a good layer of mulch, you also help to keep soil moisture at a constant level. Another critical step is using less fertilizer and only a type that is designed to promote root growth while minimizing nutrients for foliage growth. You do not want to stimulate growth. For trees planted in the winter where there is considerable wind, stake the tree to prevent undue stress on the new roots. Of course, if the ground is frozen solid and unworkable because it is too late in the winter, then it becomes more of a challenge and the Pugh's team will know how to address that. They may store unplanted shrubs in a sheltered spot where there is a southern exposure. Add leaves or mulch to keep them insulated. Then they will water every few days. When growth starts in early spring the Pugh's team will prune away any damaged branches and feed with a balanced organic fertilizer.
